I don't know which parent I should blame for my skin issues. Well it isn't bad enough were I should be placing blame on anyone, but its annoying because I see my moms skin just thriving. Everything I try topically won't clear it or even out my complexion. I suffer from hormonal acne at the age of 28 and I had normal acne as a teenager that I did pick which caused hyperpigmentation.
I tried all the normal over the counter washes from Cetaphil to Aveeno and even going to the dermatologist when I was in high school, but no miracles. Since I didn't have any luck with the things that contained tons of ingredients I decided that I wanted to go the more natural route. What could it hurt since I only had about two pimples a few days out of the month. Once I did some research, that means looking at all of Hey Fran Hey videos I decided on the following routine.
Wash with cold water - Since I have pretty oily skin in my t-zone, so I like to keep my pores closed so using cold water tends to help that a bit. I just splash the cold water directly on my face and use a paper towel to blot dry.
Toner- Witch Hazel is used as a natural astringent that removes oil and shrinks pores.I simply apply it with a cotton pad.
Moisturizer- Coconut or argan oil. It is argan oil most of the time because it is packed with antioxidants and high in vitamin e and it doesn't leave an oily residue. One pump goes a long way, so don't get to caught up on the price.
Night time Routine
Cleanser- Raw honey is naturally anti-bacterial that acts as a humectant.
I use this product straight from the jar by letting the humidity from the shower to open up my pores then I slather it on my face as if it were a mask. I shower then rinse off with cool to cold water. When I am really rushing I splash my face with warm to hot water and then rub the honey on as if it were a face wash and rinse off.

Moisturizer- Argan oil contains essential fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamin E
While my face is still damp I apply a dime size amount.
Mask-Bentonite clay has detoxifying properties
I apply this mask on a weekly basis mixed with apple cider vinegar to make sure I get rid of all the yuck that may have built up on my face.
My routine is that simple. From this post it sounds like I am against products thats contain chemicals, but I am not. Every now and than I will change out the honey for a cleanser and even use a retin-a when I remember to. I am starting to gain more knowledge on smaller companies that have great skin care products, if you know of any drop it in the comment section along with telling me your skin care routine.
